At noon on 21st March, the College of International Exchange Party Branch organised all the party members to carry out a thematic study on "Party members should not believe in religion".
Firstly, Comrade Gu Wanhong, Secretary of the Party Branch, led all the comrades to collectively study the topic of "Party members should not believe in religion" in the form of a micro-party lesson. She explained that party members can not believe in religion is this content, party members can not believe in religion means that party members can not find their own values and beliefs in religious beliefs. Citizens have the freedom to believe in religion, but members of the Communist Party cannot believe in religion or participate in religious activities, which is determined by the nature of the Party and the worldview of the Communist Party members.
Comrade Gu Wanhong said that members of the Chinese Communist Party are believers in Marxism and builders of socialism, and that it is a disciplinary requirement of our Party and a consistent principle of the Party that party members cannot believe in religion, and that it is a bottom line that every member of the Communist Party should stick to.
Subsequently, members of the branch carried out study and discussion. Among them, Comrade Mou Ke, a student member, said: as a Communist Party member, our faith is Marxism and scientific socialism. We have to be firm in our beliefs, constantly study, practice, reflect and improve our political quality and ideological awareness. Always remember our identity as party members, always keep a clear mind, firm political beliefs, and strictly demand ourselves to be consistent in word and deed.
Finally, members of the branch signed a pledge that "party members shall not believe in religion".
